Call to prevent Alzheimer’s in Pedro Betancourt.

These initiatives, not only help strengthen the mental health of older adults, but also promote their emotional well-being and social interaction.
In an effort to raise awareness among the population about the cognitive health of the elderly, the University Chair for the Elderly in Pedro Betancourt municipality hosted a training workshop on Alzheimer’s prevention at the Manuel Navarro Luna Library in Matanzas.
The proposal became a scenario to promote the implementation of strategies and didactic tools that contribute to keep memory active and, consequently, reduce the risk of cognitive deterioration in this growing age group in the Island.
These initiatives, according to the Master of Science Riquel Arnaldo Díaz Tejeda, child psychologist and family therapist in charge of the activity, not only help strengthen the mental health of older adults, but also promote their emotional well-being and social interaction.

Those present shared their concerns and knowledge about the aforementioned condition and valued the need to continue materializing this type of dynamic proposals that promote active, pleasant and healthy aging in our country.
