CCS Rubén González faces sowing cold with organization and commitment.

The Rubén González Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) in Unión de Reyes municipality is approaching the cold-weather planting campaign with organization and commitment, convinced that collective effort can overcome the limitations of the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the United States government on Cuba.
More than 200 members make up this productive center, which focuses its efforts on making the most of available resources and seeking alternatives to address the shortage of agricultural inputs, fertilizers, and spare parts. According to a radio interview by the cooperative’s president, Eddy Placencia, progress is already being made in preparing the land for the start of the cold-weather planting campaign.
The main crops for this stage include corn, malanga, cassava, tomatoes, and beans, among other staple foods for the population’s diet. Currently, the final details are being finalized in the fields to begin planting, with the aim of achieving high yields despite the limited resources.
The farmers of the Rubén González CCS reaffirm their willingness to fulfill the commitments made to the people and contribute to the effort to lower market prices, mindful of the social responsibility that characterizes the farmers of Unión.
