First donations for hurricane Oscar victims at the provincial CTC.

In each of the 13 centers of the municipal committees of the CTC the deliveries are being received and here in the provincial one we are already advancing in the classification of the articles, to send the loads to their final destination on Friday.

The first donations for those affected by hurricane Oscar in eastern Cuba, mainly from Guantanamo, began to arrive at the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Workers’ Central Union (CTC) on Wednesday morning.

Rogelio Leyva Castellanos, member of the provincial Secretariat of the CTC, said: «We are grateful for the quick response of the labor collectives and of those who will gradually join us.

In declarations to this web site, he specified that the first suitcases correspond to the unions of Civilian Defense Workers, with 12 packages, and from the Public Administration, another one, specifically from the Government management.

In the case of Tourism, he added, all the packages are gathered by hotel chains to facilitate this collection process, so that things are made easier and not a minute is lost for our brothers and sisters to alleviate their situation as soon as possible.

The people of Matanzas are also summoned to donate and make their voluntary contributions in the way they deem appropriate, with the solidarity that characterizes them and that makes us so proud, Leyva Castellanos emphasized.
