Institutions in Betancourt Reaffirm Solidarity with Venezuela After US Military Operation.

In line with the statements of the Cuban president, Royslán Cámbara Sosa, first secretary of the Party in the town of Betancourt, stated that the US government’s military action against Venezuela constitutes a threat to peaceful coexistence in the region.

In response to the events of January 3rd, when U.S. military forces carried out an operation on Venezuelan territory that included bombings in Caracas and the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, numerous political and mass organizations in Pedro Betancourt reaffirmed their public rejection of the armed intervention.

From his profile on the social media platform X, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, condemned the military operation and reiterated Cuba’s absolute support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. He demanded the immediate release of Maduro and Flores and called on the international community to prevent impunity for what he described as a violation against a UN member state.

In line with the Cuban president’s statements, Royslán Cámbara Sosa, First Secretary of the Party in the town of Betancourt, stated that the U.S. government’s military action against Venezuela constitutes a threat to peaceful coexistence in the region.

For its part, the Municipal Education Directorate rejected the military incursion into Venezuelan territory and, with the slogan «Peace for the world. No to war,» the town’s educators reiterated their call for concord and fraternity among peoples, as well as for the defense of national sovereignty and stability as a means to preserve justice and international harmony.

Likewise, the Betancourt health department warned that the military maneuver violates the sovereign rights of Venezuelans and called for an urgent global mobilization to contain the armed incursion and preserve the independence and stability of Latin American nations.

The statements shared from Pedro Betancourt reflect the position of local institutions, which align with the official stance of Cuba and reaffirm their solidarity with Venezuela.

The messages disseminated on digital platforms show a categorical rejection of the hostile operation and a call to defend peace, sovereignty, and the dignity of Latin America and the Caribbean.
