Matanzas gives a KO to the Cazadores.
This afternoon took place the third play off match between Cocodrilos and Cazadores where the Matanzas took advantage of the first game as locals and achieved their second victory, this time by KO 12×2.
The Matanzas’ offense was very strong against the Artemidean pitchers, hitting a total of 13 hits. With wood in hand, the Cocodrilos Yadil Mujica stood out with three hits, a double and two runs batted in, the reinforcement Rudy Silva also hit three hits, took it out of the Victoria de Girón and drove in two runs.
Matanzas pitcher Denis Quesada saw 26 times the opposing batters and only allowed two runs, which were scored in the first inning by first baseman José Antonio Jímenez’s home run, the rest of the game went smoothly for Quesada who stayed on the mound until the end of the game.
The visitors used four pitchers to try to stop the local offense, in addition to Elián Moreno, the starter who took the loss, Israel Sánchez, Samuel Alayo and Reynaldo Fiandor also pitched.
With this victory Matanzas takes the lead in the playoffs 2×1 and is two wins away from qualifying to the semifinals. The Crocodiles will try to win the two remaining games at the Victoria to finish at home.
