Matanzas with the highest number of prizes in the Trazaguas Contest.

 

Matanzas received some 23 awards in this year’s Trazaguas National Contest, recognized as the province with the highest number of winners in the country.

In the poetry modality, three children received awards and two mentions, in the categories 5 to 8 years old and 15 to 18, highlighting the Yumurina schools Antonio Luis Moreno, Mártires de la Cumbre, Francisco Vega Alemán and Josué País.

It is also worth mentioning the large participation and number of winners in the short story category, with one special prize, one special recognition, five prizes and four mentions.

Also with a significant number in the plastic arts modality, seven children received awards, three of them with prizes and the rest with mentions, according to the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH) on its website.

The awards gala of the National Trazaguas Contest will be held on July 12 at the protocol hall of the Meliá Internacional Hotel in Varadero, with the participation of the winners from western and central Cuba.

The contest, organized by INRH and UNICEF, is held every year at the provincial and national levels, with the aim of involving children and adolescents in the care and saving of fresh water in the green cayman.
