Pedro Betancourt receives victorious Greco-Roman wrestling coach (+audios & photos)

With an emotional welcome ceremony, the Municipal Sports Department received the distinguished Greco-Roman wrestling coach Raúl Trujillo Díaz at Pedro Betancourt municipality.

Katia Rojo Guerra and Miriela Cuevas Ramírez, methodologist and deputy director of the institution respectively, encouraged the recognized sports glory for his vast trajectory and, especially, for leading the meritorious performance of wrestling in the recent edition of the Central American Games of San Salvador 2023.

Likewise, and with the modesty that characterizes him, Trujillo Díaz expressed to those present his gratitude for the warm reception, while extolling the value of Cuban sport and those who represent it, both inside and outside our Island.

The sextet of Greco-Roman athletes   led by Trujillo Díaz not only won the total number of gold medals in San Salvador 2023, but also surpassed the results of the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018 and further raised the prestige of Cuban gladiators in this challenging sport.
