Sol Palmeras shows her blood donor arm again.

Managed by the Cubanacán trading company and the Meliá company, the 35-year-old Sol Palmeras continues to set the pace among the more than 55 hotels in Varadero, the seaside resort that boasts of having it nestled in its beautiful geography.
In a massive turnout, the emblematic Sol Palmeras Hotel once again showed its blood donor’s arm, a gesture already common in the collective of the longest-lived mixed facility in Cuba.
Although not all those who attended the call were able to comply with the human gesture, a total of 48 men and women did extend their arms to carry out one of the most solidary actions that any human being could perform.
«Always at the forefront. Blood donation as a tribute to our Apostle José Martí, and to the 35th anniversary of the official inauguration of this hotel,» posted on his profile on the social network Facebook, Arnaldo Díaz Hiedra, secretary general of the union bureau.
«It is the second missive donation so far this year. Congratulations to all those who donated, and recognition to those who went and for various reasons were unable to donate,» added the publication.
The veteran union leader referred to the initiatives agreed upon at Sol Palmeras to congratulate the donors, who are among the outstanding of the facility and have received benefits from the material stimulation system instituted.
Yarisleydis Torriente, secretary general of the Provincial Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers, praised Sol Palmeras and said that altruism like this will increase on June 14th, World Blood Donor Day, which is celebrated every year to thank unpaid voluntary donors and raise awareness of the need for regular donations to ensure the quality, safety and availability of blood and its products.
As the tourism sector is accustomed to human acts of this kind, it was precisely in Cuba’s main seaside resort where the initiative of voluntary tipping for programs of the Ministry of Public Health, such as the fight against cancer, was born.
Founded on May 10th, 1990 by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, Sol Palmeras is the all-inclusive hotel that has been awarded the National Vanguard status, the highest emulative category granted by the Cuban Workers’ Central Union (CTC).
