The XII International Convention of the University of Matanzas 2025 (CIUM), held from May 5th to 8th at Plaza America, brought together international experts for a multidisciplinary exchange, with emphasis on Physical Culture Sciences.
Dr. Silvia Armenta Zepeda, dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Mexico, shared valuable reflections on the fundamental role played by physical culture in the formation of an athlete. «It is not just about practicing a sport; it is essential to know how our body works to maximize our performance in competitions,» said Armenta Zepeda.
This meeting was not only a space for conferences and workshops, but also a unique opportunity to exchange experiences among professionals.
Dr.C Armenta highlighted her admiration for Cuban athletes, who have managed to excel in the international arena despite the limitations they face. «Cuba has shown the world its ability to succeed; it is an inspiring example,» she commented.
