Young Doctor of Technical Sciences from Matanzas Recognized.
The Matanzas researcher received the award in the Aula Magna of the University of Havana, during the ceremony honoring the best doctoral theses for the 2023 and 2024 periods, according to Acosta Prieto’s Facebook post.
For defending his doctoral thesis at the age of 30, the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) awarded recognition to industrial engineer Juan Lázaro Acosta Prieto, assistant professor at the University of Matanzas (UM).
The Matanzas-born researcher received the award in the Aula Magna of the University of Havana during the ceremony honoring the best doctoral theses for the 2023 and 2024 periods, according to a post by Acosta Prieto on his Facebook profile. “The academic excellence of the University of Matanzas was on display.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Higher Education awarded eight recognitions to researchers from our institution, including: Annual Recognition for a PhD Under 30 Years of Age. “Three of them are members of the Young Researchers Network, proving to be an example for our university community,” he published. “This tribute honors the tenacity of our PhDs and the vitality of scientific thought,” said Acosta Prieto, a Gold Degree recipient from the UM, upon graduating in 2019.
“Training doctors means continuing to support a Cuba that focuses on science and academic results for the benefit of society,” he added.
