Poetry Encounter Between Isolina Bellas and Pre-University Students (+Photos).

The Junco Palace Museum was the setting for a meeting between the poet Isolina Bellas Galván and a group of eleventh grade students from the José Luis Dubrock IPU and workers from the cultural facility.

The idea stems from an initiative by researcher Olga Lidia González and other admirers of the poet, aiming to celebrate her poetry and recall her time as a student at the Institute and as a member of the former Provincial Literary Workshop, where Carilda Oliver and Digdora Alonso, among other writers, also participated.

From her pre-university years, Isolina reminisced about Professor Raúl Ruiz, a museum curator who years later became the Historian of the City of Matanzas.

In her engaging talk, the award-winning writer encouraged the young students to study and enjoy this beautiful stage of life.

Isolina, a member of UNEAC for over 30 years, is one of the most recognized voices in the city of rivers and bridges.

Her books have been published by Gente Nueva, Matanzas, and Vigía publishing houses; she also has poems included in anthologies both nationally and internationally.

Her work is characterized by its refined lyricism and meticulous craftsmanship. She also has extensive experience as a writer and radio program consultant.
