Celebrated Builder’s Day in Varadero.
As strong as the best concrete, the so-called army of white helmets of Matanzas received yesterday December 5th, the Day of the Builder, with the best of their works, that born of doing good to others, to the needy, and above all, to themselves.
Along with the mission of continuing to build the tourist development of Varadero, Cuba’s main beach resort, the builders settled there break traditional molds to also work in the field of feelings.
In the year about to end, the community support to neighborhoods where their inhabitants receive or have received the benefits of the human stature of companies like Arcos Varadero, Constructora Hicacos or non-agricultural cooperatives like Sancof or MSMEs like Habitat has been relevant.
Thinking of the people, giving oneself to them, is not the answer to an occasional disposition or mandate. Inside, there are also options to favor the performance of its men and women. In addition to the houses under construction, well advanced by the way, we should add a jewel such as the children’s house in Arcos Varadero, the first of the Ministry of Construction (MICONS) in Matanzas, which will provide care to children of mothers and grandmothers employed by that entity.
This concept of help inside and outside not only gives prestige to the daily work of the MICONS, but it is also the fundamental material where the results are sustained, says Yudey Blanco, general secretary of the Provincial Union of Construction Workers (SPTC).

That is why in the ceremony held in Varadero the Armando Mestre Distinction, martyr of the sector, was awarded to those who accumulate an uninterrupted and outstanding work in the MICONS, 20 years in the case of women, and 25 in the case of men.
The excellent performance of the Grupo de Ejecución de Acero and the companies Contratistas General de Obras Arcos Varadero, Constructora Hicacos and Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Varadero were also awarded.
At the ceremony presided over by Pablo Santana, member of the Bureau of the Provincial Party Committee, Alexander Zaldívar Baldoquín was recognized as the best area manager and Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, in Palestine, were repudiated.
In statements to the press, Yudey Blanco announced that tomorrow, Thursday 7th, the provincial ceremony for the Day of the Builder will be held on the premises of the Construction Materials Industry, the winning collective in the emulation of Matanzas.
Blanco congratulated the more than ten thousand members of the SPTC and called on all the actors to raise the quality of the works, to meet the construction deadlines and to tear down any wall that threatens efficiency.
