Construction companies in Matanzas and Varadero receive the Flag of Labor Prowess.
Workers in the sector in the province of Matanzas have also contributed to the recovery of the provinces of Mayabeque, Havana and Artemisa.
As every December 5th, the ceremony for the Day of the Builder was held in the province of Matanzas, this year in the area of the Jovellanos 1 photovoltaic solar park, located in the town of La Luisa, in this municipality.
During the ceremony, presided over by the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, and Governor Marieta Poey Zamora, the Armando Mestre distinction, hero of the sector, was awarded to workers with 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted work in the sector.
During the ceremony, the Labor Prowess Flag was awarded to brigades 3 and 28 of the Construction and Assembly Companies of Matanzas and Works for Tourism, respectively.
Rodobaldo Herrera González, director of the Matanzas Construction and Assembly Company, said that they are celebrating the day reflecting positive technical and economic results, with more than eight million pesos in profits.
«Although the annual plan has not been met, it is expected to be close to 95 percent at the end of the month. Despite difficulties with fuel and electricity, the company’s workers are involved in several works, including the Hoyo Colorado photovoltaic park and road infrastructure projects in Martí.»
Workers in the sector in Matanzas province have also contributed to the recovery of Mayabeque, Havana and Artemisa provinces.
