According to Mardiel Surí González, vice president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, the investment and maintenance efforts are a direct response to concerns raised by local residents, who have repeatedly pointed out the persistent difficulties in accessing this precious resource.
The leader explained that the work includes repairing a break in one of the connections of the new pipeline that links the pumping stations of the «Güira de Macuriges» People’s Council and the re-pumping of turbine No. 14, key components for the water supply to the Manolita community.
He added that this work has the support of local authorities, the assistance of state agencies and other involved entities, as well as the necessary technical equipment, in a joint effort to optimize the population’s access to this essential resource.
Suri González also acknowledged the dedication of the workers in carrying out the tasks, despite the difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions, and highlighted the positive impact of these actions on the quality of life of the residents, especially on the continuity and reliability of the service in the benefited areas.
