Matanzas, headquarters of activities for World Cancer Day.
The Comandante Faustino Pérez Hernández Provincial Clinical and Surgical Teaching Hospital in Matanzas was the national venue this Friday for the activities held on World Cancer Day, which is celebrated every February 4th.
At the meeting, recognition was given to the workers of Electromedicine, the Transport Company, Doctor Erasmo Mendoza Jorge and the Social Security Group, for allowing radiotherapy treatment with the least possible impact.
The province was also distinguished himself for itscontribution to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients at the National Institute of Oncology and the provincial hospital of Matanzas territory.
At the meeting, Dr. Carlos Alberto Martínez Blanco, head of the independent section of cancer control in Cuba, in his keynote speech, commented on the achievements and the sustained work of professionals in the sector in Matanzas, reasons that made it possible to be the central stage of the activities.
In the lobby of the medical institution there will be an exhibition and scientific fair with samples of the work done by the branches of Nursing, Dermatology and other projects and promotions on the disease.
On Saturday, there will also be conferences related to the program of control and early diagnosis of the main locations of cancer in Cuba, including breast, lung, colon, prostate and larynx cancer.
