Matanzas Journalist Wins Award and Mention at La Vuelta Abajo.
With the purpose of stimulating excellence and professionalism in radio production among new generations of producers, the event was held with the participation of national and international professionals.

Journalist Jessica Mesa Duarte, from Matanzas, won an award and an honorable mention for journalistic production at the Thirteenth Meeting and Competition of Young Radio Broadcasters, «La Vuelta,» held from November 11th to 15th in the western province of Pinar del Río.
With her piece, «An SOS for Life in Sauto,» the Matanzas radio broadcaster explores the impact of the temporary closure of the cultural institution, which is also a National Monument, using journalistic language and juxtaposing sources to support her arguments.
The event, which aimed to encourage excellence and professionalism in radio production among new generations of broadcasters, featured the participation of national and international professionals.
Sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Provincial Radio Directorate, this thirteenth edition was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of radio broadcasting in Pinar del Río, which will be celebrated in February 2026.
