Most damaged sections of the national highway are paved in Unión de Reyes.

According to a publication on the social network Facebook of the director of the Provincial Road Center (CPV), engineer Reynaldo Hernández Rodríguez, the works pursue benefits such as the protection of drivers and passengers with greater durability and road safety, more efficient transport of cargo and passengers, with the corresponding reduction of operating times and costs.
Also included are comfort for drivers, less wear and tear on vehicles, increased commercial speed, optimizing logistics and the local and national economy, said Hernández Rodríguez, who emphasized that everything pursues the immediate goal of reducing traffic accidents on one of the most important roads in the country.
He specified that these works, key for the development of transport in the region, are checked in the meetings of the Road Recovery 2025, chaired by the Coordinator of Program and Objectives of the provincial government, comrade Anisley Fuentes Crespo.
Recently, patching actions had also begun on the access road to the town of Macagua, in the municipality of Los Arabos, where the provincial company of Road Maintenance of Viales y Construcción and of Construction and Assembly Matanzas intervened.
Optimizing traffic conditions and road safety in the area, one of the purposes, for the benefit of residents and visitors to Macagua.
