Pedro Betancourt carries the flag for ANAP’s 65th anniversary (audio).

During the event, the Leonor Pérez Polytechnic School was recognized as part of ANAP’s 65th anniversary celebrations for its outstanding track record in training mid-level technicians and skilled workers directly involved in the agricultural development of the region.

As part of the celebrations for the 65th anniversary of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), political and governmental authorities, representatives of the sector, and agricultural producers led the organization’s flag procession through strategic centers of education, production, and services in Pedro Betancourt municipality.

During the event, the Leonor Pérez Cabrera Polytechnic School was recognized as an ANAP 65th Anniversary School for its outstanding track record in training mid-level technicians and skilled workers directly involved in the agricultural development of the region. For her part, Lizdeibys Ponce García, president of ANAP in the town, congratulated the school and highlighted the unwavering commitment of the educational community to the principles of the farmers’ organization and the country’s food sovereignty.

The flag itinerary also included visits to the local Maternity Home, the Giraldo Díaz Children’s Center, and the Dr. Pedro Figueroa Sandelis Nursing Home in the town center, as well as the Senior Citizens’ Center and the José Díaz Márquez Credit and Services Cooperative in the Bolondrón People’s Council, with the aim of strengthening ties between the productive structures and social institutions of the area.

Likewise, producers from the Victoria de Girón, Gustavo González, Giraldo Díaz, Juan de Mata, José Díaz and Revolución de Octubre cooperatives donated agricultural products to the visited enclaves, distributed with the support of students from the polytechnic school, in order to guarantee food for the most vulnerable sectors and strengthen the social responsibility that defines the Cuban peasantry today.
