This November, the provincial Clinical-Surgical-Docent Hospital Comandante Faustino Pérez, in Matanzas, is getting ready to celebrate Science Month, an initiative that began in 2021 with the aim of promoting scientific and technological development in various medical specialties.
Dr. Lissette Miña Oliveros, president of the Academic Committee of Ophthalmology in the province, expressed her enthusiasm for presenting a series of interesting cases that stand out for their atypical character. This activity promises to be a showcase of the achievements and challenges in this important branch of medicine.
During the event, conferences will focus on the interrelation between rheumatologic diseases and their ocular manifestations, as well as the influence of arterial hypertension on visual health. These academic spaces provide health professionals with the opportunity to analyze and discuss the complexities they face in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
Dr. Miña Oliveros emphasized the importance of providing updated and useful information to improve patient care.
A highlight this year is the introduction of new surgical techniques in the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis, a topic that will be addressed jointly with the specialty of otorhinolaryngology, demonstrating the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach that is being sought.
This collaboration between specialties not only enriches the knowledge of professionals, but also offers better perspectives for the comprehensive management of patients.
The continuity of Science Month underscores the commitment of Faustino Perez Hospital to innovation and advancement in healthcare. Throughout this month, the center will become a space for exchange and learning, reaffirming its place as a reference in medical training and practice in the province.
