Sign language is included in the audiovisual presentation of San Severino Castle.
The San Severino Castle Museum has incorporated Cuban Sign Language into the audiovisual presentation of its historic Hall of the Orishas.

According to its director, Dr. Isabel Hernández Ramos, the initiative is the result of a partnership between the museum, the National Association of the Deaf of Cuba, the University of Matanzas, and the City Historian’s Office.
It is considered more than a technical adaptation; it is an act of cultural justice to expand the reach of this heritage. Hernández Ramos states that «the history of our African roots, the sacredness of the syncretic liturgy, and the memory held within these walls must be accessible to everyone, without barriers.»
«Now, the founding narrative reaches people through hands and expression, so that the spiritual and cultural legacy of the Hall of the Orishas can also be experienced and understood by the deaf community.»
«It’s a commitment to true inclusion, where everyone has the right to connect with their heritage.
«The audiovisual presentations will include Cuban Sign Language, integrated using a universal design approach. This will allow people with hearing disabilities to have full and enriched access to the stories and heritage held by this emblematic site.»
The San Severino Castle Museum is among the most significant foundational and historical landmarks in the Athens of Cuba.
