New actions are being implemented in Matanzas to reverse the unfavorable situation related to the infant mortality rate in the province.

A booklet is already in circulation with the aim of increasing the knowledge of families about the care of pregnant women and guidelines for action at certain moments.

This experience, due to its importance and acceptance among the population, will be extended to other provinces of the country in order to benefit the results of the Maternal and Infant Care Program (PAMI).

Likewise, primary health care professionals in the Yumurino territory hold talks with pregnant women on harmful habits and practices that hinder the good outcome of pregnancy.
