Following this opportunistic maintenance, the Yumurí thermal power plant awaits the general overhaul, which will take no less than 180 days and will allow it to reach a capacity of 300 megawatts.

The Antonio Guiteras Thermal Power Plant in Matanzas synchronized with the national power grid at 2:59 p.m., after overcoming difficulties with a valve system and the generator, issues that delayed generation for a few hours.
At the time of this report, the plant was undergoing a configuration change at 44 megawatts of power, an operation that involves disconnecting from the grid and becoming self-sufficient.
While this is undoubtedly a delicate process, the Guiteras plant has been the site of approximately 500 corrective actions carried out in a well-planned manner and serves as an example of technical expertise capable of defying obsolescence.
Following this timely maintenance, the Matanzas thermal power plant awaits a major overhaul that will take at least 180 days and will allow it to reach a capacity of 300 megawatts, with increased online time and improved efficiency in fuel and water consumption.
