The region is showing results in recognizing its artists with awards in the country and on international stages, institutional collaboration, the restoration of spaces for aesthetic enjoyment, and attention to prominent figures.
The president of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), Martha Bonet de la Cruz, spoke this Wednesday in Matanzas with members of the branch, the authorities of the province and her counterpart, José Manuel Espino.
The region is demonstrating results in recognizing its creators with awards both nationally and internationally, through institutional collaboration, the restoration of spaces for aesthetic enjoyment, and by providing support to prominent figures.
During the exchange at the writers’ and artists’ association headquarters in Matanzas, the commitment of UNEAC members to defending national unity and promoting the cultural consumption of the best of Cuban music and local talent was emphasized.
Those present acknowledged the attention of the Party and Government to the territory and expressed concerns about the commercialization of art, technological shortcomings and other issues to defend culture as a pillar of the people’s resistance.
