Pedro Betancourt Municipal Council Emphasizes Attention to the Population.
The Municipal Council concluded its sessions with a commitment to continue working toward solutions that promote the economic and social development of Pedro Betancourt.
The Municipal Administration Council dedicated its most recent session, held at the headquarters of the People’s Power Assembly, to evaluating the implementation of the Government Program aimed at correcting distortions and revitalizing the economy, as well as monitoring the local government’s agreements.
According to Mardiel Surí González, vice president of the Betancourt government structure, who spoke with our station, the preparation of work collectives and center directors regarding the study and analysis of the Government Program was among the main topics of discussion, as it was considered a strategic step for advancing accurately and efficiently in the implementation of state policies in the territory.
The agenda also included the status of the implementation of agreements with the population, where deficiencies were noted in the integration of agencies to address pending issues and some delays in achieving the established objectives.
During the session, the Basic Business Unit for Transportation presented its report, with the participation of Juan Carlos Álamo, Operations Director of the provincial transportation company. The official explained that the results were modest, although opportunities to improve service to the public were discussed, and alternatives to increase service efficiency were evaluated.
A report from the municipal office of the National Tax Administration Office (ONAT) was also presented, acknowledging persistent gaps in tax administration. Furthermore, the state of digitalization in the district was the subject of in-depth analysis, with the aim of identifying limitations and developing solutions to enhance the digital transformation in the town.
Finally, Surí González emphasized that the Municipal Administration Council concluded its sessions with a commitment to implement the agreements of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, correct the identified shortcomings, and continue working toward solutions that promote the economic and social development of Pedro Betancourt.
The meeting was chaired by Lázaro Plasencia Rodríguez, standing in for the town’s mayor, and was attended by administrative staff, deputy mayors, and leaders of mass organizations and local entities.
