Minister of MINCIN Verifies Implementation of Economic Transformations in Commerce

The head of the Ministry of Domestic Commerce, Betsy Díaz Velázquez, presided over a working meeting with representatives of the Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services sector to verify the implementation process in Matanzas of the new economic and social transformations promoted by the country.

The minister of the sector addressed at the Provincial Government headquarters the main thematic axes with direct influence on the exercise of commerce, where aspects related to decentralization and modification of state administrative management were reviewed.

Among the novel points, the new economic measures authorize commercialization and provision of services to foreign entities based in the country, including branches established under current decrees on foreign investment policy.

Díaz Velázquez also referred to new opportunities for stimulating wholesale and retail purchases using as working capital the budgeted fund of public funds and bank credits that allow offering products at a lower cost with a view to confronting the price escalation.

During the work session, the Pergomar and El Palacio Basic Business Units were recognized with the MINCIN 65th Anniversary plaque, entities of great relevance for their sustained work toward the improvement of Commerce.

Methodological Meeting Held on Implementation of Economic Measures

Directors of the Commerce sector in Matanzas held a methodological meeting where they analyzed the implementation process of the new measures approved by the Government for the country’s economic and social transformation.

The 176 measures approved after extensive debates and consultations in different governmental and party instances are made up of 23 thematic axes, where transactions in Commerce, Gastronomy, and Services are directly addressed.

Attendees at this working meeting discussed the modification proposals in the state administrative management of Commerce, giving priority to non-state management forms and non-foreign investment modalities.

As a sector priority, emphasis was placed on actions that contribute to the care of people in vulnerable situations, perfecting the work of the dining halls of the Family Care System.

On this topic, the determining participation of economic actors in support of this disadvantaged population segment was also addressed as a work policy.

Among other points analyzed, a call was made for the reorganization of Wholesale Commerce, prioritizing the creation of supply markets with direct access for natural and legal persons.
