Artemisa to face Matanzas in National Series playoffs.
After concluding the last game of Matanzas as part of the rescheduled games, the Crocodiles are now in sixth place and will have the Cazadores de Artemisa as their rival in the play off phase.
The game was played on Tuesday, June 27th at 10:00 a.m. against Guantanamo. At the Nguyen Van Troi stadium, the Crocodiles won 4-2 with a victory for the pitcher Denis Quesada.
The loss went to Yoandro Daudino, while Armando Dueñas got his fifth save of the season and the rookie Juan Elián Manrique hit it out of the park for the first time in the National Series.
The Cocodrilos will have to face the Cazadores, who are third in the standings with 41 wins and 34 losses, in the playoffs.
On the other hand, a play-off with historical clashes in direct elimination stages has also been defined. With Sancti Spíritus’ 9-1 victory over Ciego de Ávila on Tuesday, the Gallos secured the fourth place in the qualifying stage and will start playing the post-season against Industriales (fifth place) in their José Antonio Huelga stadium.
