These actions seek to revitalize one of the municipality’s most representative public spaces, promoting a sense of belonging and care for the shared environment.

A group of volunteers has joined together in a noble initiative to renovate and beautify the iconic Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos Park, a space named in honor of the illustrious Spanish thinker and humanist, a key figure of the Spanish Enlightenment and a source of inspiration for the region’s cultural identity.

The volunteer workday, organized by residents, local institutions, and young people committed to the well-being of the community, included cleaning, gardening, painting benches and structures, and planting ornamental plants.

These actions aim to revitalize one of the municipality’s most representative public spaces, promoting a sense of belonging and care for the shared environment.
“This park not only bears the name of a great figure in Hispanic culture, but it is also a symbol of our local history. Beautifying it is a way to pay homage to our roots and proudly celebrate this new anniversary,” said one of the event organizers.

The activity is part of a broader program of community initiatives that will take place in the days leading up to the anniversary, with the goal of strengthening social bonds and highlighting the values that identify Jovellanos as a municipality of traditions, culture, and civic engagement.
