Exchange with women from CTE Guiteras, delegates to the FMC Congress.
At the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant, the delegates to the XI Congress of the FMC learned that the plant is stopped and is undergoing maintenance work, which is expected to be concluded in a period of 17 days.
On the occasion, they learned about the composition of the labor group and the leading role played by women in various tasks, as explained by the plant’s Human Capital Director, Ariel Monzón Velasco.
They also learned about the functioning of the entity’s Gender Committee, in order to recognize the role of women in Cuban society and especially in the largest unitary block in the country.
The directors and men in general support the work of women, said the attendants to the exchange, while they emphasized the unity that characterizes the collective. There is not and we do not allow gender discrimination or any other type of discrimination, in any way, in our center, said the women who offered a warm welcome to the matanceras who will represent them in the XI Congress of the FMC.
They highlighted the actions underway with respect to children’s homes, entities for the care of the elderly and social assistance, in order to support women so that they can develop to the fullest in their centers of work or study.
It is a guarantee to know that when old age arrives, the entity in which that person worked will have a place to stay and care for her. It would be very good if initiatives in this order were approved, said Ismary Lara Espina, professor at Camilo Cienfuegos University and delegate to the congress of the women’s organization.
Our families have become accustomed to the fact that the women of the thermoelectric plant do not have a schedule and therefore we have all the support – assured the workers, Hortensia Ibañez and Raisa Ruiz Tejera.
Both referred to the events of women creators and the Science and Technology FORUMs, with which they have contributed to the efficiency of the plant and the quality of services.
