Integral supervision visit to the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office concludes in Matanzas.

The Integral Supervision visit carried out this week by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) to its counterpart in the province of Matanzas, with the purpose of evaluating the work systems implemented in the legal institution, and exchanging experiences that allow perfecting the work of this State organ in charge of ensuring the strict compliance with the Constitution, the laws and legal provisions of the country, was described as very fruitful and satisfactory.

The Attorney General of the Republic, Yamila Peña Ojeda and the Deputy Attorney General, Reynaldo Cruz, headed the inspection team which, during three working days and through face-to-face and remote mode, checked the performance of the key result areas in the Matanzas Prosecutor’s Office.

Among the activities checked were criminal proceedings, citizen attention, fiscal verifications, control of legality in penitentiary establishments, family protection and jurisdictional matters, and other essential departments such as information technology and institutional communication and human capital management.

The official delegation of the FGR also visited some municipal organizational units and exchanged with authorities of the Government and the Party of Matanzas city about the work of the legal institution and its current priority objectives.

Among the meetings held, it is worth mentioning the dialogue between the head of the FGR and the young prosecutors of Matanzas about new strategies to improve the work of the agency, the exchange with teachers and students of the Law Technical School, where issues related to the professional training of future technicians were discussed, as well as their concerns and worries about this specialty.

The visit to the University of Matanzas was also opportune to learn about the opportunities for improvement offered by the academy to law professionals, the projects being developed at the institution to train Masters and Doctors and about the working links between the Matanzas Prosecutor’s Office and the university.
