Matanzas: Integrated measures are being implemented to break the transmission chain of two arboviruses.

Despite the complex situation in the province due to the circulation of two arboviruses in all municipalities: dengue and chikungunya, both transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, integrated and comprehensive measures are being implemented to break the transmission chain.
Cuba’s Deputy Minister of Public Health, Carilda Peña García, participated in the provincial technical committee for the analysis and response to arboviruses in Matanzas.

«This is not an isolated situation in the province of Matanzas,» said the deputy minister. Last week, she argued, the highest number of suspected febrile cases of both diseases was observed.
