School Year Begins in Jovellanos Dedicated to Fidel’s Centenary
Jovellanos – The municipality opened its classrooms today with an enrollment of more than 7,000 students in a day of reaffirmation of education as a fundamental pillar of the Cuban nation.
The opening ceremony of the new academic period took place at the Paquito González Cueto elementary school and was attended by authorities Norma Llerena Pérez, member of the Provincial Party Bureau, and Vice Governor Lázaro Suárez Navarro, along with representatives of the Ministry of Education. From early on, pioneers, teachers, and family members gathered to take part in this return to classes in a challenge for knowledge.
The school year is dedicated to the Centenary of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, whose legacy was evoked with emotion by the voices of the pioneers.
Teachers, aware of the material challenges, expressed their firm willingness to teach with vocation and dedication, while parents thanked the institutional effort to guarantee educational continuity.
Each classroom is a space for the formation of values and knowledge, where the present and future of the Homeland are forged.
