Science Without Borders: The Knowledge That Unites Us (+audio).

The global community, driven by UNESCO, dedicates every November 10th to celebrating this day that reminds us that knowledge, beyond formulas and theories, must be a force for unity and harmony with the nature that sustains us.

Every November 10th, the world celebrates Science Day for Peace and Development, because science is not just a collection of theories and experiments: it is the key that unlocks paths to understanding between peoples, the tool that allows us to transform daily life, and the common language that reminds us that knowledge can be a force for unity, not division.

This day exists to remind us that behind every discovery lies the possibility of building a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.

Interestingly: School is the Beginning

Science communication today is expanding beyond classrooms and laboratories, conquering digital platforms and global communities.

Moreno emphasizes that online education and audiovisual materials not only instruct, but also entertain and raise awareness.

An example of this is his documentary *Arrecife Alacranes, olas de vida* (Scorpion Reef, Waves of Life), where science becomes an ally in environmental protection and a voice for overlooked ecosystems.

His vision points to a future where edutubers and digital creators are facilitators of learning and guardians of critical thinking in times of misinformation.

Atomun: Science beyond the Greater Homeland

Another prominent figure in this field is Venezuelan journalist Jack Bravo Camacho, host of the television program ‘Atomun’ on the Latin American multiplatform network Telesur.

His arrival on this program marked a turning point in how science is communicated in our region, transforming the screen into an open classroom where knowledge is shared with rigor and accessibility.

Bravo Camacho explains how Atomun has established itself as a leading socio-information resource, bringing current scientific topics to millions of television viewers and digital users.

The initiative demonstrates that science is not a distant discourse, but an indispensable part of our daily lives, capable of engaging with the social and cultural concerns of our communities.

It also highlights Telesur’s communicative role in democratizing information and strengthening the identity of the countries of our Greater Homeland.

From there, science is disseminated as a tool for regional integration and as a bridge for dialogue with the world, demonstrating that knowledge is also a path to peace and development.

Cuba: Science that beats with life

Science beats with life in every advance, but also in every gesture of solidarity. It is a bridge between cultures, a seed of progress, and a promise of peace.

That is why the global community, driven by UNESCO, dedicates every November 10th to celebrating this day, which reminds us that knowledge, beyond formulas and theories, must be a force for unity and harmony with the nature that sustains us.

In this regard, we spoke with Professor and Researcher Luis Ernesto Martínez González, an Illustrious Son of the municipality of Pedro Betancourt and a specialist at the Science, Technology, and Innovation sub-delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA) in Matanzas, who invites us to reflect on the true meaning of this date: science must always prioritize peace among human beings and the harmonious progress of society with nature.

Martínez recalls that Cuba has prioritized advanced science for decades, contributing to peaceful coexistence.

Concrete examples include the development of biotechnology, vaccines, and research at numerous scientific centers, all designed to serve life and collective well-being.

Equally important is the solid scientific training that Cuban professionals receive in all university programs.

This comprehensive preparation is complemented by continuous professional development and critical analysis of major global advances, allowing us to adapt the best of global science to our national context. And the international contribution is also significant: Cuban doctors, engineers, and professors have shared their knowledge in other countries, demonstrating that science can be an act of solidarity.

The largest of the Antilles is thus recognized as a leading example of a model that transforms knowledge into justice, innovation into life, and research into solidarity and cooperation.

Each discovery is a heartbeat that affirms sovereignty, each advance a gesture that opens itself to the world, and each fruit of knowledge evidence that science can be both a root that sustains and a horizon that calls forth.
