XI Congress of the FMC in Matanzas is moving forward.
The assembly process prior to the 11th Congress of the of Cuban Women Federation (FMC) is progressing favorably according to statements made by Odalys García Pérez, general secretary of the women’s organization in Matanzas.
With 65 and 57 percent of assemblies carried out in blocks and delegations, the number of ratified grassroots leaders and the presence of young people in these structures, above 50 percent, stands out throughout the provincial geography.
«Seven hundred and twenty-three women have been selected as pre-candidates to the national conclave, to be held in March 2024 in the Cuban capital, while the provincial meeting will take place on November 28th, when the process in neighborhoods, communities and municipalities ends,» said Garcia Perez.
The request to review the age established for women’s retirement, the completion of the grassroots structures with women capable of guaranteeing the continuity of the organization, the confrontation of crime, corruption, illegalities and acts of violence, are among the proposals formulated in the meetings, which also highlight the need to strictly control the rise in prices of basic necessities and the support of the MININT, at the passenger collection points, said the leader.
