Vladimir Ilich Lenin Construction Contingent celebrates its 31st anniversary.
More than three decades after September 5th, 1992, the date of the creation of the Vladimir I. Lenin contingent, they maintain the same spirit of unceasing work, says proud Armando Roncourt, secretary general of the trade union bureau of the grouping now called BCOA 36.
He recognizes that despite the difficulties, they continue to bet on doing things right from the first time, out of respect for the customers and also for the founding essence of the collective, which had the honor of having Fidel Castro Ruz present at the constitution of the new organization.
Roncourt proudly recalls his participation in that previous meeting on September 2nd, where the historic Leader of the Revolution explained the need to halt the investment in the Juraguá Nuclear Power Plant (CEN), in the province of Cienfuegos, and that the men and women who worked there would be assigned to works related to tourism in Varadero and Cayo Coco.
Thus arrived the Vladimir I. Lenin arrived in Cuba’s main beach resort, where it has built most of the 58 hotels of this Sun and Beach emporium. Roncourt speaks proudly of the founders still active, a force he considers very valuable, «for being an extraordinary example of consecration, from whom we have learned a lot. We owe them infinite respect and gratitude for remaining part of our collective.
As a result of its unceasing work, under a double shift regime, BCOA 36 is a fundamental force in the execution of essential programs such as tourism development, water resources and housing, its main clients.
One of the most relevant actions in its portfolio of services has to do with the maintenance of facilities of the Ministry of Tourism and the Gaviota business group; in addition to the construction of relevant infrastructure projects, together with BCOA 47, such as the Oasis project, the most important investment underway in Varadero, already concluded in its first stage and one of its two hotels in operation.
Thus, in full hustle and bustle, the Lenin celebrates its birthday. Despite the labor fluctuation that complicates the day-to-day work of this organization and other problems, the collective, often called Vanguardia Nacional, maintains «the same spirit of victory as when the eternal Commander in Chief founded the contingent 31 years ago».
