Gran Retto Open Water will take place in Varadero again.

On September 16th and 17th, Cuba’s Varadero will once again host the Gran Retto Open Water Crossing, organized by that Mexican brand, which specializes in the organization of sports events.

With the support of the Ministry of Tourism and CubaDeportes, the second edition of the event will be held for swimmers, triathletes, clubs, swimming schools and the general public.

Places will be decided in the distances 750 meters, 1.5 kilometers, five kilometers and 10 kilometers, categories divided by age, one of them special, for people with disabilities.

With the purpose of promoting the practice of open-water swimming and fostering tourism on the island, last year Varadero hosted the first edition of Gran Retto Cuba, the famous Playa Azul, which will put at the service of participants Meliá Las Américas, Starfish Varadero and Starfish Cuatro Palmas facilities.
