Matanzas Brigade Departs to Aid Hurricane Rafael Recovery Efforts.

In an act of solidarity and commitment, an electrical contingent from Matanzas was flagged off this Saturday to leave for the municipality of Cotorro, in Havana, with the objective of collaborating in the recovery of the damages caused by hurricane Rafael.

The flag-bearing ceremony was attended by the first secretary of the Party in the province, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, and Governor Marieta Poey, who stressed the importance of unity and collective action in times of crisis.
The brigade, composed of more than 50 electrical workers from Matanzas and 11 service and brigade vehicles, is preparing to face the challenges posed by the restoration of the electrical system in the affected provinces. During her speech, Yanlis Durán Gómez, secretary of the Energy and Mines union in Matanzas, underlined the workers’ commitment to leave traces of solidarity and contribute to the welfare of the impacted communities.
Hurricane Rafael has left a complicated panorama in its path, with numerous damages to electric infrastructures that require immediate attention. The mobilization of this contingent not only represents a technical effort, but also a message of support to those who have suffered the consequences of the meteorological phenomenon.
This initiative shows the spirit of solidarity that characterizes the people of Matanzas, who are ready to act in the face of adverse situations.
