Matanzas present at Habana titiritera: figures among cobblestones.
On Thursday, August 3rd, the Cuban capital will kick off the 4th Havana Puppetry Day: Figures among cobblestones, which will last until Sunday, August 6th, organized by the company Teatro La Proa, under the auspices of the Havana Theater Center (CTH), the National Council for the Performing Arts and the Saiz Brothers Association (AHS).
As part of the activities, the Papalote group, directed by maestro and National Theater Award winner Rene Fernandez Santana, will showcase two of the most active plays of the repertoire, Historia de Burros and Se durmió en los laureles, both written by Fernandez Santana himself.
The event, being dedicated on this occasion to puppetry education in Cuba, will also bring as a guest the Carucha Camejo Teaching Unit of Teatro de Las Estaciones, with its graduation show Adonde van los ríos (Where the rivers go).
Likewise, El Mirón Cubano and Teatro Tentempié (which will perform at the Sauto sub-station in Matanzas) will also be present in the program.
The Cuban capital will have an excellent representation of the Athens of Cuba, with the participation of these groups that defend the art of puppetry with great love.
