This Thursday, the provincial hospital Comandante Faustino Pérez Hernández, in the city of Matanzas, was the scene of the Open Doors event, designed to promote vocations in the field of health among young people.
The activity brought together students from the Carlos Marx Pre-University Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences, as well as members of the ninth-grade class and tenth-grade students.
The activity, whose main objective was to bring students closer to the reality of the Cuban healthcare system, was attended by hospital authorities.
Also present were leaders of the University Student Federation (FEU), representatives of the Department of Educational Work of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Matanzas, as well as heads of medical services and young residents, who shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants.
The deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power and member of the Council of State, Dr. Tahimy Martínez Naranjo, in her speech reflected on the vital importance of generating spaces like this, which not only promote interest in health sciences, but also strengthen the connection between students and the service offered by the health system in the country.
