With various initiatives to promote a social culture of disability, members of the National Association of the Blind (Anci) in the province of Matanzas are celebrating the 49th anniversary of their organization and are enjoying with their families the educational, cultural, sports and recreational activities that take place in each locality during the summer.
Activities in neighborhoods in transformation and communities where the associates live, sports and recreational meetings, cultural galas, summer courses, visits to museums and commemorative acts for the different historical anniversaries are some of the options in which Anci representatives participate during the vacation period.
This was emphasized by the president of Anci in this western province, Ramon Tier Perez, in an interview granted to Radio 26.

On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the organization, the most outstanding leaders and associates were recognized in all the localities of Matanzas, while in the municipality of Jagüey Grande took place the main activity of the province to commemorate the founding date of Anci, which today groups more than 30,000 members throughout the country.
The organization’s present and future goals are to promote a culture of disability in Cuba, aimed at promoting social inclusion from a rights-based approach and leaving behind the welfare model.
