The Central Oil Drilling and Extraction Company is developing a series of activities in celebration of the Occupational Safety and Health Day, which runs from November 1st to 30th.
Among the main actions carried out in the oil company are the talks for risk prevention, the theoretical-practical classes to train the staff in a disaster situation and the carrying out of fire drills to guarantee compliance with the measures.

The head of the Occupational Safety and Health team at the institution, Francisco Lluis Fleitas, stated that they have a team of 14 people, including eight women, ready to ensure compliance with the safety plan measures.

«Our fundamental objective is to ensure that workers have the necessary tools to avoid workplace hazards in their work area, as well as to contribute to environmental protection,» he added.
Fleitas emphasized that there are procedures for every action taken, which must be strictly followed to help reduce accident rates.

As the culmination of the Occupational Safety and Health Day, the institution’s management and employees will conduct a joint exercise with officers from the Matanzas Military Region and the Central Army General Staff.
