The members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC) in Pedro Betancourt held the balance assembly corresponding to their annual management during 2025.
The meeting assessed the fulfillment of patriotic-military duties, internal operations, and direct support for members amidst the complex socioeconomic landscape facing the island.
During the exchange, which included the participation of political and governmental authorities, as well as representatives of mass organizations, details were provided on military registration and performance during Territorial Defense Days. The need to foster engagement and the incorporation of young people into the organization to revitalize its structure was also acknowledged.
Other topics of discussion included the efficiency of self-financing and the utilization of recreational shooting ranges, as well as ideological combat on digital platforms and the urgent need to diversify the Association’s presence on social media to counter subversive campaigns orchestrated against the nation.
Regarding social assistance, the discussion focused on monitoring the needs of combatants and their families in vulnerable situations. A call was made to strengthen ties between grassroots organizations and the Health, Labor, and Housing agencies to ensure a comprehensive response to the housing and quality-of-life needs of their members.
Looking ahead to the current calendar, the ACRC in the town outlined a plan of activities to commemorate the centennial of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. Those present emphasized the organization’s responsibility in safeguarding the revolutionary process and preserving local and national historical memory.
