Matanzas Honors the Commander with the «Fidelísimos» Cultural Days
Matanzas will honor the Commander-in-Chief on the centenary of his birth with the «FIDELISIMOS» Cultural Days from Tuesday, August 11, to Friday, August 14, at various venues across the city.
The tribute begins this Tuesday at ten in the morning with the talk: «Fidel and His Vision of Women’s Performance in All Spheres of Cuban Society,» referring to the work of María Dolores de Figueroa and her exceptional work at the Botica Francesa, led by specialists from the Matanzas Pharmaceutical Museum, with the audience at the Provincial CTC.
At the same time, this Tuesday the «Arte para ti» (Art for You) event will extend to the Eliseo Noel Caamaño Provincial Pediatric Hospital, for the enjoyment of convalescent children and their families, featuring the Circo La Rueda Company.
Libertad Park will host the musical proposals «Rumba por el Centenario» (Rumba for the Centenary) at six in the evening.
The group Los Muñequitos de Matanzas will open, and at 10:00 p.m., the Failde Orchestra will perform in concert with their guests Mariachi Los Coyotes.
The «Fidelísimos» days for the centenary of the Maximum Leader of the Cuban Revolution also celebrate International Youth Day and the 25th anniversary of the Sociocultural Project «Maravillas de la Infancia, Cultivadores de Sueños» (Wonders of Childhood, Dream Cultivators). In upcoming spaces, we will expand this information.
Regarding Wednesday, August 12, there will be a true celebration when at 9:00 a.m. the «Por una Infancia Feliz» (For a Happy Childhood) Children’s Carnival starts, with a route from the Sauto Theater along Milanés Street to Libertad Park.
The photographic exhibition dedicated to the Centenary of our Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz will also be inaugurated at the La Aurora commercial complex.
At 11:00 a.m., they call for the «Tertulia Luz Martiana» (Martí Light Gathering) at the Ermita de Monserrate. In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the Cultural Space «La Casa de Todos» (Everyone’s House) will take place, inspired by the work of art instructors, at Libertad Park.
