High Prices Confronted in Matanzas

Ensuring that the population perceives the benefits of reduced high costs of food and basic necessity products is the main objective of the actions to confront abusive and speculative prices carried out by political and governmental representatives in the province of Matanzas.

During the past day, 122 thousand pesos were collected through the imposition of fines; seven establishments were closed; and four forced sales and 23 warnings were carried out during inspections of 82 private establishments and 17 state-owned ones.

The main violations were the existence of uncertified scales, the absence of informational boards listing products and prices, the disuse of fiscal bank accounts and online payments, among others.

In each case, the corresponding norms were applied according to the magnitude and severity of the violation.

Officials explained that systematic control of compliance with the measures must be maintained to prevent violations from continuing, which in all cases affect the lives and pockets of the Matanzas population.
