Art to Celebrate Fidel: One Hundred Years, One Single Path
Artists from various generations gathered this August 13 at the Sauto Theater, a National Monument, to celebrate through the gala «One Hundred Years, One Single Path» the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
A representation of the people came to the neoclassical coliseum and, together with Mario Sabines Lorenzo, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province of Matanzas, and Marieta Poey Zamora, governor of the territory, enjoyed the cultural talent ready to celebrate Fidel.
«The gala truly resembled Fidel; I think it was intelligently prepared and well developed,» said Rafael Nieves, one of the attendees who also had the satisfaction of seeing his young granddaughter Sabrina — a teenage art cultivator — sing.
Yadiel Durán, artistic director, expressed satisfaction with the result, thanked the participants, and highlighted that it was not difficult to find exponents to represent the various manifestations because everyone called wanted to be there and be part of the great celebration.
Danza Espiral, Maestra Miriam Muñoz, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Nuestra América, the acclaimed performer Alfonsito Llorens, Novadanza, Conchita Torres, and Maravillas de la Infancia were among the numerous artists, groups, and projects that contributed to bringing «One Hundred Years, One Single Path» to the stage.
