63rd anniversary of the FMC celebrated at Jovellanos.
Just hours before celebrating the 63rd anniversary of the constitution of the Cuban Women Federation (FMC), a representation of Jovellanenses gathered at the Leonel Fraguela Credit and Services Cooperative of the Flor Crombet Popular Council to hold a municipal ceremony on the occasion.
The occasion was propitious to confer, by agreement of the National Committee, the August 23rd Distinction to Carmen Estela Cárdenas Chao, a federate who stands out for her work, trajectory and vanguard attitude.
Likewise, other federates who stand out for their work received well-deserved recognition from the hands of the main authorities of the municipality present at the celebration.
The FMC in Jovellanos groups a little more than 22 thousand members; and according to Martha Elena Crivillé, member of its Secretariat in the territory, during these days «they are immersed in fulfilling and advancing different tasks to arrive in August to the XI Congress of the FMC, aware of the times the country is living».
The celebration did not fail to evoke Fidel and Vilma, the founders of this organization. Sixty-three years later, the FMC continues to consolidate itself as a mass structure capable of developing policies and programs aimed at achieving the full exercise of women’s equality in all areas and levels of society.
