ARTEX celebrates its National Vanguard status in Matanzas (+ audio and photos)
For the eighth consecutive year, the provincial branch of ARTEX Matanzas deserved this Tuesday the condition of National Vanguard, granted by the Union of Culture, due to the economic results of the company, among them the overfulfillment of the cost and profit plans.
In the meeting held at the La Salsa cultural center, other aspects of ARTEX’s actions during the period were highlighted, among them, the support in adverse circumstances such as the fire at the Supertanqueros Base when it served as a shelter for those affected and its workers supported with blood donations, and the passing of hurricane Ian.
Likewise, Elio Castro de la Rosa, general manager of ARTEX in Matanzas, went in depth on the excellent service that the institution provides to the people from the cultural proposals, gastronomy and the attention within these options to the diverse public towards which today the activities of the cultural centers of the company are directed.
They highlighted as reasons for this achievement the union among those who belong to the Matanzas branch, which has been awarded the distinction on 12 occasions in total, the stability of the group and a service of excellence, which Ricardo Puri Piñero, vice-president of the head office at national level, described as the locomotive of ARTEX in the country.
During the celebration, which coincided with the 32nd anniversary of the provincial branch, the work of outstanding workers was recognized on behalf of those who work in the company today, several retirees and 10 groups were awarded the status of national distinguished: the El Monte store and 10 cultural centers, among them Brisas del Mar, Arte Cubano, Las Palmas, Allende and Entre Puentes.
Matanzas cultural institutions such as the Provincial Center of Books and Literature and the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods, as well as the Peñas Altas People’s Council and its 64th circus, also honored the provincial branch of ARTEX Matanzas for its 32nd anniversary and for obtaining the National Vanguard flag for the eighth consecutive time.
The day was entertained by singer-songwriter Yuniel Doble Ponce, humorist Juan Carlos «el Gordo» and Tony Ávila and his band.
