Everything is ready to start this Thursday morning the light maintenance of the Antonio Guiteras Thermal Power Plant in Matanzas, an undertaking that will involve more than 1,800 personnel for 17 days.
Specialists consulted on the matter indicated that on this occasion the baskets of the regenerative air heaters, manufactured in the country, will be replaced, the boiler will be cleaned and among other elements, the operation of the generator, turbine and the automatic one will be tested, as well as the repair of the cooling system of the output transformer.
The presence of contracted technical advisors is vital in this shutdown which, to a large extent, provides details for the execution of the extended maintenance of October of this year, a millionaire undertaking which requires a high level of supply of parts, pieces and supplies.
As Unión Eléctrica has informed, following the departure of the Matanzas unit, the distributed generation, supplied with the fuel necessary for the 17 days of maintenance, will supply the delivery of the Guiteras unit, estimated at 250 megawatts.
