Orquesta Failde nominated for Latin Grammy Awards
The Matanzas-based Orquesta Failde communicated through its social networks the happy news of the group’s nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards with the album Danzoneando (En vivo desde Matanzas), produced by Egrem and El Cerrito Records.
In this regard, they commented that «this album is possible thanks to all those who have done and are doing for danzón, thanks to Matanzas, to the Provincial Directorate of Culture, to Cubavisión, to the Sauto Theater, to the special guests on the album, Orlando Valle «Maraca», José Loyola and Pánfilo. Thanks to the members of La Failde and to our families for their constant support in spite of all the difficulties».
The group competes in the Best Traditional Tropical Album category, which according to the event’s official website, rewards vocal or instrumental albums «that contain at least 51 percent of total recorded time.

Along with the Matanceros, also prestigious on the list are El Septeto Santiaguero, with the album Y Sigo Pa’lante, also produced by Egrem, and the diva of feeling, Omara Portuondo, with the album Vida, by One World Records.
«Danzoneando» is the Orchestra’s fifth album and the first recorded live at the historic Teatro Sauto, an anthology of sorts with some of the most beautiful danzones created during the 20th century.
The annual Latin Recording Academy event, for which Orquesta Failde is nominated, will take place in November at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones in Seville, Spain.
