A 10 percent growth in net sales compared to 2024, equivalent to more than 700 million pesos, is the challenge of this year’s Economy and Budget Plan (PEP).

According to Lourdes Sarmiento, coordinator of objectives and programs of the provincial government, to achieve the figure, physical productions are needed, such as food industry, which must respond to the demands of the people, a retail circulation of more than 4.95 billion, profits higher than 10 percent and an investment process concentrated in strategic elements.

A novelty of PEP for the current year is the planning of surplus for the 13 municipalities, against six of the previous year, which is a challenge to the search for alternatives to increase the income, he considered.

Approved in the last session of the National Assembly of People’s Power,
the PEP maintains premises of continuity of the implementation of the strategy to the world economic crisis, to the guidelines approved in the eighth Party Congress and the economic and social development plan until 2030.

«It has as principles objectivity and coherence, under the precept of mitigating the impacts of the economic war, developing and advancing,» Sarmiento pointed out.

He argued that the PEP pursues the purpose of constituting a real instrument for driving the economy, from the recognition of the tensions that will continue to impact its execution, and the need to mobilize all possible reserves and incorporate them to the production of goods and services.

As reported, 10 objectives define the projections for 2025, and are consistent with the intention of advancing in the macroeconomic stabilization program, increasing and diversifying foreign income, increasing national production with emphasis on food, advancing in the resizing and development of the socialist state enterprise, of the remaining economic actors and their complementary role.

Other priorities are associated with the progress in the improvement of strategic management for territorial development and government management, as well as the consolidation of social policies and the protection of individuals, families, households and communities in vulnerable conditions.

In a last block, he cited as other priority objectives to advance in the general directives, aimed at the prevention and reduction of crime, corruption, illegalities and social indisciplines; to implement the Government program for the recovery of the National Electro-Energy system, and to manage science, innovation and communication, and digital transformation.
