Following due consideration, the decision was made based on the municipality’s comprehensive efforts to promote programs focused on the well-being of the people, despite numerous challenges and limitations.

During an ordinary session of the Plenary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), held at the José Smith Comas School, it was announced that the municipality of Matanzas will host the provincial event commemorating the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
After due consideration, the decision was made in recognition of the municipality’s comprehensive efforts to promote programs focused on the well-being of the people, despite numerous challenges and limitations.
Mario Sabines Lorenzo, First Secretary of the PCC in the province of Matanzas, expressed his hope that the decision would encourage continued efforts and further refinement of the work.
During the meeting, Sabines Lorenzo also emphasized the importance of the ongoing process of studying and analyzing the Government Program to correct distortions and revitalize the growing economy in the region, as this process fosters unity.
The session included extensive debate on the actions taken to promote the guidelines of the Eighth Party Congress related to food production, procurement, procurement, and distribution, as well as the impact of these measures on the agricultural system and Azcuba (the Cuban state-owned sugar company).
During the plenary session, participants reflected on the responsibility of party members to expedite the allocation of land for food production, expand the application of the results of domestically developed science, improve the training of personnel, break the cycle of non-payment, control available resources, consolidate state-owned enterprises with sustained growth, and substitute imports.
Osmar Ramírez Ramírez, a member of the Plenum and general secretary of the Cuban Workers’ Federation in the province of Matanzas, emphasized that the union must address all matters related to payment systems, employee well-being, emulation and productivity initiatives, and individual recognition more efficiently. «In the agricultural sector,» he stated, «we have stories of life every day born from the love of work.»
Also during the session, Víctor González Imbert, a member of the Provincial Bureau that oversees the Political-Ideological sphere, pointed out that all municipalities in the territory are involved in donations to the eastern part of the country affected by Hurricane Melissa, and reported that the works of the plan to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution are gradually being completed.
